A Beautiful Javanese Wedding

Javanese weddings are never dull. Seriously. Its always vibrant, colourful and rich in tradition. A month a go I was invited to my friend's Javanese wedding. Here are some photos taken during the reception.
It was hot day, thankfully we were given a fan as a memento
The lovely Bride & Groom: Sulis & Bayu
The newlyweds with batchmates
Wafa & I with the bride and groom
We had a 3 course meal. This was satay with ketupat.
Sup Bakso
Rice with veggie & chicken
The mystical sounds of the gamelan

Honestly, there are many things to write about Javanese wedding. Am just not in a writing mood. Sorry. Got so many things to do and so many things to think about. In the mean time, if you're curious and would like to know more about Javanese weddings read some of this links:

Love Happens To Those Who Wait

A month ago I went back to Malaysia for my friend's wedding. Suki & Aimi were both my seniors in Gadjah Mada University. I consider Aimi as one of my close friends in Yogya. We lived in the same house for almost 5 years!

The akad nikah was at Aimi's house in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. I actually flew back from Yogya on the 3rd. And on the same day I flew to KB at night. The wedding was on the 4th and I flew back to KL on the same day as the wedding. I guess you can say I spent exactly 24 hours in KB. A lot of exciting things happen during the 24 hours. I had a lot of fun and it was worth flying back to Malaysia for.

Here are a few pictures I took during the wedding. There was a lot to choose from. Now I understand the dilemma of professional photographers. Hoho!

Congratulations Aimi & Suki!
