Have A Break, Have A Kit Kat

The last 2 days has been kinda hectic. Not physically but mentally. A lot of things have been on my mind lately. A lot of things to think about on my quest to finish studying and get the title "Dentist" by July/August. So little time so much to do. I need a break but there's no time for that. So, for now let's enjoy the Japanese Kit Kat my mum bought for me a couple of months ago. I had trouble knowing what the flavours were so I searched the net and found this two sites that helped (here and here).

One Hour Motorbike Ride Just For Seafood!

My friends (Wafa, Muna & Amir) and I went on a one hour motorbike ride to the beach just to eat seafood yesterday. But it was definitely worth it! Minus the part that our butts were cramped and my back hurts trying my best to sit slightly straight so that my *ahem-ahem* didn't touch Amir's back. Haha!

The beaches in Yogya are not of the 'Places you have to visit before you die' kind. We just go there when we're either feeling bored or when we wanna eat fresh seafood. Anyway, we arrived at the beach about 2 hours before sunset. The first thing we did was go to the market and bought the fishes, squid, clamps & prawns that we wanted to eat. It was about 1kg of squid, 0.5kg clamps, 1kg of prawns and 7ounces of fish. Then we picked a place to eat and tell them how we want the seafood to be cooked.

While waiting for the food to be cooked, we took pictures & enjoyed our Es Kelapa Muda. Yummm!

A jumping picture is always a must at the beach

Amir merenung masa depan. Haha!

Yayyyyy! The food is ready!

From top left to the bottom: Udang goreng tepung, Sotong masak Padang, Udang masak asam pedas, Sotong goreng mentega & ikan bakar. The clamps were cooked with oyster sauce (not pictured)

The four of us finished it all!

Burp!
Alhamdulillah.

Check out their site for more awesome illustration but in the mean time here some of my faves (there was soo many to choose so I had to limit the amount to upload and let you explore the site yourself).

Tune on Tuesday: Coachella 2011

Coachella was held last weekend. I obviously missed it as I'm living in a continent that barely gets to watch the bands that I really wanna watch. This year Coachella is headlined by Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, The Strokes & Kanye West. They were plenty of other awesome acts performing such as Neon Trees, Jack's Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, Cold War Kids, Crystal Castles, Interpol, Sleigh Bells, Chemical Brothers, etc. Awesome right?

Common Cold

Am down with a cold. Thankfully no fever. Just a scratchy throat, runny nose, sneezing and a little bit fatigue. But thats enough to dampen my day. Hopefully I'll feel better by tomorrow. Got so many things to sort out this week. Can't afford to be sick. I already put a box of tissue and a small plastic bag beside my bed. Had my daily dose of Vitamin C and swallowed one Panadol for Cold & Flu. Will swallow another one before I sleep. My friends were sweet enough be take me to a place that sells chicken porridge for lunch. Maybe I should hit the sack early.

My lunch. =)

Globes

I love globes.

I wish I could own a vintage globe like one of the shown below.
I love globes mainly because I like maps. Weird, I know. Whenever I get bored, I used to flip the pages of my atlas.

I love this couple's theme for a photo session to celebrate their engagement. They are both US diplomats who travel the world together, hence the world maps, vintage globe & travel books theme. Check out this link for more awesome photos!

This kitchen decorated with globes is pretty cool as well.

Whenever I get the chance, I would love to try making this chalkboard globe. It would be cool to scribble down places I would like to visit one day, etc. Check out the tutorial for this chalkboard globe here

Globes can come in all form, shape and sizes.
I wish I could own this Globe 3D Spherical Jigsaw.
I love jigsaw puzzles as well. Globe & jigsaw all in one is definitely a double treat.

This sectional paper globe from Upon A Fold is pretty interesting as well.

I think I love globes mainly because I love traveling. =)
I forgot to do a feature for this week's Travel Thursday. Been occupied with a lot of things lately. Will try  my best next week. Can't seem to pick a place to write about. Any ideas?

Tune on Tuesday: Grizzly Bear

For some weird reason, Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks kinda reminds me of the feeling of falling in love. The video is kinda odd but the song is perfect. =)

RIP Mr Fishy

My fish died today. I realized he was acting a bit strange the whole day but at around 10pm he was floating upside down and lifeless. I bought him slightly more than a year ago. Wasn't expecting him to live longer than 6 months but amazingly he lived longer than expected. He will be missed. =(

Travel Thursday: Japan (Part 2)

Did a post about my first trip to Japan about 3 weeks ago. I've been kinda behind on blogging about my travels. Busy busy busy... Anyhoo, my second trip to Japan was in September 2009. I went with my parents and it was fasting month. My parents also celebrated their 25th Anniversary while we where there. Japan is a special place for both of them as they have spent time working there.

For this trip I only stayed in Tokyo. The first time I went to Japan I didn't get the chance to explore Tokyo so this was the time to do it!

Beautiful greenery

Went to Asakusa again cos my dad wanted to take photos

Got a chance to watch the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra  perform at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall

When you're in Tokyo you really have to go to the Tsukiji Fish Market. Watch as they auction off tunas!

Other sea creatures you can find at the Tsukiji fish market
